Extraction Methods and Their Influence on Yield When Extracting Thermo-Vacuum-Modified Chestnut Wood
نویسندگان
چکیده
Improvements in the yield and solubility of chestnut wood extractives, by using different extraction methods molybdenum catalysts as support, have rarely been reported literature. Many studies focus on parts trees, except for chemical characteristics remaining extractives achieved from thermally modified (THM) (Castanea sativa Mill) wood. This research seeks to better understand effects techniques extractives. GC-MS analysis chloroform soluble insoluble fractions was also used. Accelerated Solvent Extraction (ASE) 110 °C, Soxhlet, autoclave were used obtain untreated (170 °C 3 h). Ethanol/H2O, ethanol/toluene, water solvents each technique. A polyoxometalate compound (H3PMo12O40) MoO3 supported silica catalysts. The THM induced a change wood’s surface color (ΔE = 21.5) an increase mass loss (5.9%), while equilibrium moisture content (EMC) reduced 17.4% compared control yields their always higher mainly ASE without catalyst showed results technique type (untreated THM). Ultimately, amount extractive dissolved solvent will differ, choice depend intended final application extracted product.

Effect of Thermo-Vacuum Treatment on the Color and Chemistry of Larch Wood
The objective of this study was to investigate the color and chemical changes of thermo-vacuum treated larch wood. Specimens were heat treated in a vacuum at various temperatures for 4 h. The color parameters of untreated and heat-treated samples were measured using the CIELab color system. Changes in the chemistry of larch wood were investigated using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), el...
متن کاملInfluences of Thermo-Vacuum Treatment on Colors and Chemical Compositions of Alder Birch Wood
With high temperature-heat treatment, the dimensional stability and durability of wood is improved and wood color is darkened as well. In this paper, alder birch wood (Betula alnoides) was treated by the ThermoVacuum Treatment (TVT). The changes of wood color parameters and the chemical composition were determined by the CIE1976 L*a*b* method and the chemical analysis method, respectively. The ...

The photo-stabilizing effect of post-extraction was evaluated for thermally modified wood. Extracted and non-extracted thermally modified Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) samples were exposed in a xenon weather-ometer for 1008 h, and the surface color and chemical changes were characterized using a chroma meter, attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (ATR-FTIR), an...
متن کاملInfluence of Extraction Methods on the Yield of Steviol Glycosides and Antioxidants in Stevia rebaudiana Extracts.
This study evaluated the application of ultrasound techniques and microwave energy, compared to conventional extraction methods (high temperatures at atmospheric pressure), for the solid-liquid extraction of steviol glycosides (sweeteners) and antioxidants (total phenols, flavonoids and antioxidant capacity) from dehydrated Stevia leaves. Different temperatures (from 50 to 100 °C), times (from ...
